Docmaniacs is a collective of three female Iranian artists with various practices in documentary & experimental cinema. In 2015, the collective was co-founded by Afsaneh Salari and Hoda Siahtiri. The two met in Europe during their Docnomads master’s studies and their similar worldview inspired them to collaborate with each other.
We direct & produce our films and we accompany like-minded artists from Iran and Afghanistan to the international film scene. We have so far received funding and awards from Sundance Film Institute, IDFA, Doha Film Institute, and Visions du Reel among others.

Docmaniacs is an independent entity that implements horizontal structures in its collaborations. Through this collective we raise our voices and narratives from the global south, aiming to shape a potential history.
